Catherine Saba Giering elected as chair-elect of the 2009 Young Lawyers Section Council of the Baton Rouge Bar Association. - 2/2/2009 -

The Young Lawyers Section is composed of members of the association who are 36 years of age or younger or have been lawyers for five years or less and is dedicated to service to the bar and young lawyers in particular, the profession in general, and the community. It is an active affiliate of the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association as well as the Young Lawyers Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association. As a program-oriented group, its goals are to contribute to the enrichment of our community, to increase understanding of the law among the members and the bar at large, and to enhance young lawyer professionalism. It is involved with member recruitment and retention by defining activities attractive to new admittees and other non member attorneys.
 
The 2009 Young Lawyers Section Council officers include Kyle Ferachi of McGlinchey Stafford, chair; Catherine Saba Giering of Crawford Lewis, chair-elect; Alesia Mottle Ardoin of the Louisiana Board of Ethics, secretary; and Karli Glascock Wilson of Kean Miller, past chair. The YLS Council members are Jenifer Gaubert Aertker of Seale, Smith, Zuber & Barnette; Molly Balfour of the Louisiana Department of Justice; Lyla Neelis DeBlieux, Attorney at Law; Brian W. Hightower of Kean Miller; and Jamie Hurst Watts of Long Law Firm.
