Lisa E. Maurer is a partner at Crawford Lewis, P.L.L.C., specializing in the area of public finance. During her twenty-two (22) years of practice, she has participated in a wide range of complex public finance transactions, including general obligations bonds, revenue bonds, single family and multi-family transactions, complex special assessment bonds and natural gas prepay transactions. Ms. Maurer's experience includes all types of bonds, taxable and tax-exempt, as well as Gulf Opportunity Zone Bonds and Build America Bonds. She has assisted in drafting numerous pieces of legislation, including the community development district legislation, which passed in 2001, as well as legislation relative to redevelopment authorities and state insurance programs. Ms. Maurer has been listed as one of The Best Lawyers in America in the field of public finance since 2005. She has served as a panelist for the National Association of Bond Lawyers annual seminar and authored the article titled "The Roles and Responsibilities of a Public Finance Lawyer" which was included in the book entitled Winning Legal Strategies for Public Finance Lawyers: Leading Lawyers on Government Debt, State Law and Federal Taxation (Inside the Minds) published in 2005. Ms. Maurer earned a bachelor's degree in 1983 from Louisiana State University and a law degree in 1988 from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association and the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
