Donald is a graduate of Louisiana State University (B.S., 1978; J.D., 1981) and was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1982. He is a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association; Louisiana State Bar Association; the Florida Bar, and the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
