OUR FIRM

Scott Crawford and James Lewis are Louisiana natives. Both are admitted to practice in multiple State and Federal jurisdictions and have practiced before State and Federal District Courts and Appellate Courts throughout the United States. Additionally, each has considerable experience in corporate transactional work including disclosure and continuing disclosure work under the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934, involving both taxable and tax exempt offerings. Combining this litigation and transactional experience provides clients with a unique perspective towards all aspects of the law, and provides an additional degree of confidence and security.

Although our traditional emphasis has been in the areas of Federal and State Securities Law, Professional Indemnity and Insurance Defense, and corporate transactional work, the firm has diversified significantly and now offers clients an experienced, diverse and successful group of capable lawyers.

“The firm has grown by hiring lawyers with specific expertise in areas new to us. We intend to continue to prosper in this manner, should the right people become available. We are about capability rather than size.”

Professional and Ethical Considerations

The firm has established ethical and professional protocols of conduct which extend considerably beyond any mandatory requirements set forth by the various bar associations.

We require that each of our attorneys receive over twice the minimum continuing education requirements of our bar association on an annual basis.

Further, the firm has developed customized timekeeper software which establishes costs for a wide variety of standardized legal services. Of course, we will modify our billing structure according to the needs of individual clients. However, to date, our internally imposed parameters have met or exceeded all client standards, and are available for review in advance of retention.

Additionally, all of our attorneys are required, on an annual basis, to pass a demanding set of criteria, demonstrating:

  • An excellent level of work at a reasonable market cost
  • The utmost respect in dealings with judges and colleagues
  • Irreproachable integrity and honesty in all decisions
  • The highest level of continuing education in a specialized practice – far more than required by traditional professional standards
  • A consistent involvement in community service and education

Experienced attorneys, expedient client service, and a commitment to the highest standards in the profession give Crawford and Lewis the means to meet your needs quickly, efficiently, and economically.
